About Me 

Welcome. I am Emma Elizabeth Massie, a learning experience designer. My designs aim to solve your problem with universal design for learning, engaging content, and elegant visuals. 

At the heart of learning design are two of my core values: connection and community. An effective learning solution often requires both to be activated. Connection must be forged in the mind of the learner based on prior experiences with an adequate amount of new experience added. Connection must also happen between the learner and the learning experience - the learner must engage with the material by finding some kind of connection to it. Community is crucial to a learning experience because a strong sense of community is critical to making change. Hence, when I am crafting a learning experience, I take into consideration two key components - how will the learner connect with this material, and how will I create a sense of community for the learners? 

I believe one of the most important traits of a learning designer is to be open to new information. There are many different ways to learn, and I love to challenge myself by exploring until I find the best tools for the job. I look forward to creating solutions for your specific learning needs.
